With reference to our letter of the 1st November,

1930, No.A/474, regarding the securities deposited with us

on account of the note issue of the Hong Kong and Shanghai

Banking Corporation in Hong Kong and the Straits Settlements,

I have the honour to report for the information of the

Secretary of State that we have released £500,000 4% Consoli-

dated Loan Bonds 1957 or after to the Bank and have received

in exchange £500,000 4% Funding Loan Bonds 1960/90.

In addition to the above we have also released

to the Bank £10,000 London County 21% Consolidated Stock

Certificates and £15,000 3% Local Loans 1912 or after Stock

Certificates. As the total value of the securities deposited

with us is stated by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking

Corporation to be considerably in excess of the amount

required we have not called upon the Bank to lodge fresh

securities in place of these bonds.
